Monday evening best-selling author Tom Clancy, best known for his work in the video game industry on titles like Splinter Cell and Ghost Recon, has past away in a hospital in Baltimore at the age of 66.
In 1996, Clancy help found a video game studio under the name of Red Storm Entertainment. The company made games that where based on his books and other games original ideas of the company. In 2000 Ubisoft purchased the company and continues to this day to make games under the Clancy name. The the most recent game released under the Tom Clancy banner  is Splinter Cell: Blacklist, which this past August 20th.
Ubisoft posted this on their Facebook.
We are saddened to learn of Tom Clancy’s passing and our condolences go out to his family. Tom Clancy was an extraordinary author with a gift for creating detailed, engrossing fictional stories that captivated audiences around the world.
The teams at Ubisoft, especially at the Red Storm studio, are incredibly grateful to have collaborated with and learned from him, and we are humbled by the opportunity to carry on part of his legacy through our properties that bear his name.
Other games under the Clancy name are Rainbow Six series, The Hunt For Red October, and of course the new next-gen game Tom Clancy's The Division.
Tom Clancy had a very big hand in getting the game industry to where it is today. I have had some of the best game experiences in my life playing on the Clancy platforms. He will be missed.

Concept of Ben Affleck's Batsuit?

So far nothing official has come out to confirm this concept image as being officially part of the up coming Batman vs Superman movie. The image sure looks authentic. it has comic book artist Steve Scott's name at the top, Scott is best known for his work on Smallville and the comic book version of The Dark Knight. the surrounding text on the image seems legitimate for studio artwork. So who's to say Scott didn't get a job as a concept artist on the Batman vs Superman movie. A couple notes have also been scribbled down referring to "no Bat nipples". act lest we don't have to worry about that mistake ever appearing on screen again. the man drawn as Batman is clearly Ben Affleck. there is also a note at the bottom that says "Ben wants no Bat nipples." So where or not this image official we'll just have to wait and see but no bat nipples is a move in the right direction. Whether or not Affleck will be a good Batman is still up in the air. I do hope that everyone involved with the project can pull it off.

"Pirates of the Caribbean 5" has been pushed back.

The fifth Pirates of the Caribbean film has been delayed. Pirates 5 is having problems with budget and the current draft of the script according series producer Jerry Bruckeimer. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales was original set to ship out in summer of next year but now has been pushed back full year, until summer of 2016. This is what Bruckeimer had to say.
“We have an outline everyone loves but the script is not done,” he said in an interview with THR, “we want a script that everyone’s signed off on and a budget that everyone’s signed off on.”
So it looks like we'll be waiting awhile for our next big screen pirate adventure  will have to wait but in the mean time we have Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag just a month and half away. That should satisfy our taste for swashbuckling adventure.

Will Jason Bourne be making a Return to the Big Screen

Twitch has learned that Universal is in negotiation with Matt Damon and director Paul Greengrass to get another Jason Bourne film off the ground. Damon has said in the past that he will only reprise his role if Greengrass makes a return to direct to the project. So if we want to see Jason make a come back then we need to keep our fingers crossed for Greengrass to say yes. Universal also plans to continue Aaron Cross's storyline, but if Damon and Greengrass do sign on this could mean potential crossovers for the two characters.

Ben Affleck...as Batman?

Ben Affleck has been casted to play Batman in the upcoming Batman vs. Superman film directed by Zack Snyder and opposite Henry Cavill as Superman. Not sure if this is a good idea, I would have rather seen John Hamm or Scott Adkin get the part. This casting is ether going to be very positive or very negative, we just have to wait and see. IGN has some more detail at the link below.

Bale back as Batman?

WB is sitting down with Bale and offering up $50 million for him to sign on for The Batman and Superman movie as well as the Justice League movie. Personally, I would like to see Bale reprise his role as Batman along side Henry Cavill's Superman, but only if Bale going to put his best foot forward again. After the last film it felt as though he was ready to move on from the role. Both Justice League and The Batman & Superman movie are going to be big steps forward for DC if they want to keep up with the Marvel movie franchises, we can't have a guy who's half committed to the projects. A few weeks back Bale stated that he would not be coming back as Batman and that no one had talk to him about Justice League. Maybe Bale was just waiting on a call back, But the fact that the studio is looking for a new face to play Batman means that they are covering their bases if Bale declines.

Fox wants a four picture Wolverine deal with Hugh Jackman

Fox is sitting down with Hugh Jackman and offering him a $100 million dollar paycheck if he signs onto a four picture deal as Wolverine. Does this include 2016's X-Force? Not sure just yet. Hugh hasn't made up his mind one way or the other yet. Hopefully Hugh will stay on as Wolverine. The Wolverine was a great film and if this is a precursor of what is to come then next year's X-men: Days of Future Past and 2016's X-Force will only be better.

The Xbox One will no longer require Kinect. I'm really glad that Microsoft is making some necessary changes to the Xbox One. I feel as though the  Kinect sensor does not need to be a requirement.
